The breakfast was awesome - the String Quartet really blew me away - Getting on and off was super smooth - My room was cozy, and the housekeeping was top-notch, plus the staff were really friendly - The coffee machine area got a bit busy at times, but it was a great perk - The tours and guides were really knowledgeable and super helpful - Dinner options were top quality and had a great variety - All in all, a fantastic experience!!!

The experience on the ship was truly fantastic. The crew members were just wonderful. We had a great time dining and were especially impressed by the gluten-free choices available. The staterooms were well-equipped with plenty of amenities and storage space. If you're aiming to expand in the U.S. market, I’d suggest putting some focus on pre-travel documents. Most cruise lines provide luggage tags, and the pre-travel info should cater specifically to the U.S. My documents mentioned, 'As you prepare to return to the UK.' It’s a small detail, but definitely something to keep in mind for the future.

Our stateroom on the Riviera River cruise was simply lovely. The crew was super friendly and went out of their way to help us. The meals were delicious. Our tour guide was very helpful and shared a lot of great info. He and his crew ensured we had a fantastic time on our journey along the Danube. We sailed by charming Hungarian and Austrian towns, stunning castles, and beautiful vineyards. The scenery in October was breathtaking with all those fall hues.

I had a blast on the cruise, but the crew when I got on board felt a bit less welcoming. It looked like they were more into chatting with couples, while my meal was just kinda plopped down in front of me with a casual "bon appetit". Honestly, I was itching to leave the dining area, except for the buffets, which were a different story. On the bright side, the food was fantastic, and the trips we took were really well planned.

The crew was amazing and super helpful. The Emily Bronte is a stunning ship. I really enjoyed the 24-hour coffee machine, especially the cafe latte. It was great to find out that excursions were included, and our tour guides were top-notch. We mostly had enough time to shop around. The food was beautifully presented and offered a nice variety. I had a blast at the specialty restaurant—those steaks were excellent! The cabin was roomy enough for two, with a door that opened up for some fresh air and lovely views. My only gripes were that the WiFi could be a bit spotty, and I wish I could've watched the Sound of Music in the lounge before heading to Saltzberg.

The team was just fantastic. Super knowledgeable and always available to help out if needed. The cabins were lovely and consistently kept tidy by a wonderful cleaning crew. The food was decent - maybe could use a few more choices for folks who don’t eat meat or rich dishes. One downside was the all-day trip to Normandy with the packed lunch. Great concept, but if it rains, there’s really no place to sit and eat, so I noticed a lot of lunches getting tossed. It might be nice to add a few more tours since you had plenty of free time to wander, and first-timers might appreciate a bit more guidance. All in all, I had a fantastic time and would definitely book again with Riviera Cruise Lines.

We had a fantastic time on the Douro River cruise. The accommodations and meals were top-notch. The only hiccup we faced was when we got off the boat. Since we were making our own way from Porto to Lisbon, we were supposed to be picked up at 8:30 a.m. We were instructed to leave our bags outside the suite for them to be taken to the reception area. Despite informing the reception about this, our luggage didn’t make it there, and we ended up hauling it ourselves. To prevent this from happening to others, it might be a good idea for the Reception and Tour Guide to keep track of passengers who are traveling independently and not using Riviera's transport.

I had a blast with the cozy vibe of river cruising. Honestly, I can't see myself returning to those massive ships—just too chilly and lacking warmth. With Riviera River, the staff got to know us by name and offered service that was truly top-notch.

I had the pleasure of taking a lovely trip on the Douro Splendour with an awesome crew. The views were stunning, and the ship was quite impressive. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The wine options were a bit on the slim side. However, the service was top-notch. If you're into river cruising, the Douro River is definitely worth checking out.

Our host was amazing at making us feel comfortable and at home. We were the only guests from outside the UK on the ship, and she really went out of her way to include us and make us feel like we belonged. The dining room staff were also top-notch, providing excellent service and being super friendly.

The crew aboard the ship was fantastic. I can't praise them enough. My safe wouldn't open right before our excursion, and Sergio at the hotel desk lent me 50 euros from his own pocket so I could have some cash if needed. The staterooms on the Douro were quite cramped. It was tricky to find space for our clothes. The food could've been improved too. Perhaps a small selection at the bottom of the daily menu that remains constant for picky eaters would help—like grilled chicken, steak, or something straightforward. My husband struggled to choose his meals. Overall, we had a really great time.

Even though I've been on cruises before, this was my first time on a river cruise. The lodging was super comfy and the bathroom had plenty of space. The meals and wine were top-notch! The crew was really friendly, fun, and attentive!! The excursions were fantastic. I had a blast exploring all those quaint towns and historical landmarks. I'm already looking forward to my next river cruise experience :-)

The food was decent, but hey, I'm American. The service from the dining crew was hit or miss. Some evenings we’d get our water and bread right off the bat, while other times we had to wait ages for both. My daughter has an allergy, and they did their best to accommodate her. We really missed having salad, as it wasn’t served on most nights. The tea and coffee station only had pastries on a few mornings, not every day. Plus, there were hardly any snacks available; I only spotted three cookies one afternoon. On the bright side, the cabins were tidy, and the tour guides were top-notch. Most of the other guests were from Europe, and they seemed pretty satisfied with the meals.

1. Overall, it was pretty dull. The tale of port was told over and over again, to the point of exhaustion.
2. The food was just plain bad, typical British fare with no local dishes, not even the basics like linguisa or salt cod.
3. The entertainment on the ship was ridiculous. A fake cooking demonstration and some towel folding? Fado? What’s that?
4. A few staff members treated guests like kids, especially one director whose name escapes me - Anthony, Antonio? He was quite immature and condescending.
5. The tour guide, a guy whose name I also can’t recall, had a massive ego. He got snappy during an outing when someone asked him to use the microphone before he thought it was necessary.
6. All-inclusive should really mean all-inclusive. Don’t tell me I have to tip and specify how much.
